Today's #MotivationMonday spotlight goes to Rowan the HeRo and his mom and dad, Emily and Reggie Taylor. Rowan is a heart warrior who was born premature with Pulmonary Hypertension, Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), two Ventricular Septal Defects (commonly referred to as holes in the heart), Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate, and has a G-Tube. He has had one open heart surgery and three heart catheter procedures at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. His mom, Emily, regularly volunteers with the Big Heart Fund, serving dinners to the patients and families of the CVICU. Read below to hear why she supports the Big Heart Fund!
"As a parent to a heart warrior and a volunteer with Kellen's Big Heart Fund, I know that the BHF makes a world of difference to families in the CVICU. The BHF provides monthly dinners to families as well as items to the kids to make their hospitalizations less stressful and more fun, such as stickers for NG feeding tubes and superhero capes for kids who receive heart transplants. The CVICU is a much brighter and joyful place thanks to the Big Heart Fund!"
Rowan the HeRo is now a thriving toddler who enjoys exploring new food and learning new skills. We are thankful for the support of the Taylor family and look forward to Rowan's bright future! Join us as we continue to cheer on Rowan in his journey!
