#SuperTuesday Volunteer Highlight: Jennie Dickerson

Today's #SuperTuesday Volunteer spotlight goes to Jennie Dickerson!

Jennie became part of the Big Heart Fund family when one day, Katrina and Kellen showed up at bible study hosted at her home through Peace Tree UMC. Little did she know then, she would soon become integral to helping the Big Heart Fund grow into the support it is today for the families of the Heart Institute at Le Bonheur. She currently serves as Secretary of the Big Heart Fund Board and is often the brains behind how we can grow to meet the needs of those we serve. We are grateful to have her on our team! Read her bio below and why she supports the Big Heart Fund.

"I serve the Big Heart Fund as Board Secretary because I believe that the work of the Big Heart Fund is valuable to families receiving care at the Heart Institute. Health is about so much more than doctors and medications, and the Big Heart Fund aims to be a support system, a stress reliever, and a friend. We can all relate to needing a little help during a hard time."

When Jennie is not serving with her fellow Big Heart Fund friends, she is the Director of Communications and Development for Lakeshore Camp and Retreat Center, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Cabin 9 Consulting. She lives in Memphis with her fur babies and backyard chickens and is an active member of Peace Tree UMC where church can happen anywhere."

Throughout our journey, we have learned that superheroes come in all forms but what truly makes them special is what comes from the HEART. We are thankful for volunteers like Jennie that help make our work possible! To join our volunteer team or if you want to learn more about serving on our Board, click here.
